“Well, [healthcare providers should try to] prevent infection in the first place. So that is, adhering to particular bundles, such as the central line insertion bundle. [We should also be] making sure that we insert tubes cleanly and safely; making sure that we wash our hands; making sure that we wear the appropriate protective equipment, gloves and gowns, when needed; vaccinating our healthcare workers; making sure our patients are vaccinated; and [paying] attention to antimicrobial stewardship, [by] using antibiotics wisely.”
