In a recent interview, Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the NIAID, expressed caution about the upcoming few weeks as stay-at-home orders are relaxed. Fauci said that while he understands people’s need for normalcy and getting the economy back up and running, he also warns everyone to not simply throw caution to the wind. “

In other coronavirus news, a Harvard Medical School study team used national survey results to identify individuals at elevated risk for severe COVID-19 and, among them, those at high risk of financial ruin as a result of costs associated with their care.

And lastly, Moderna announced scaling up of manufacturing capacity for its investigational messenger RNA COVID-19 vaccine. Infectious disease experts have recommended that stockpiles of several promising vaccine candidates be created as they enter late stage development.
